Saw the attack on titan movie

I loved it so much, it had a creative take on the anime/manga, It was intense and I could almost not look away most of the times. Very chilly too, it felt like a horror movie, which is good. The effects could have been better, but like the creator said, limited resources means limited effects so I cant really blame him for that. I loved the imagery in this movie, specially the scenes that was directly recreated like how Eren saved Armin, that was a good one. 

What I do not understand is the hate the movie gets just for being different from the source material. We have a whole anime and manga that tells the exact same story. Wont you like to have something new instead of seeing the same thing over and over again ? The story is from the most parts the same except for SOME PARTS. So yeah, really unfair hate on that.

The acting I cant say much about, considering, well, japanese and all
